Give them the Gift of Vision

Amrita (S/1215/0313)

Amrita, a 7 year old girl, was very regular with her studies and school. She always enjoyed her school. Her teacher once told her mother that she was having difficulty in seeing blackboard from back benches. Her brother was also facing same problem and had undergone left eye lens aspiration with intraocular lens implantation at Shroff Eye Centre with support of Koshika Foundation.

Amrita was also brought to Shroff Eye Centre, where she was examined and diagnosed to have developmental cataract in both eyes. Subsequently she underwent right eye lens aspiration with intraocular lens implantation on 13th November 2015.

She was very happy with her right eye but she was still finding difficulty with her left eye. There was also a risk of amblyopia (lazy eye) in left eye, if left untreated. So Amrita was operated upon at Shroff Eye Centre, with support of Koshika Foundation, for her left eye also. Her left eye surgery was done on 8th of December 2015.

Now Amrita is very happy that she can see this beautiful world once again. Her mother is also very happy that both of her children have got good vision.
