Give them the Gift of Vision

Tarun Singh (S/0315/0433)

Master Tarun Singh, a 3 years old baby lives in K-26, Mahipalpur, New Delhi. He was suffering from an abnormal white reflection from the eye, since his birth.

Tarun was brought to the OPD of Shroff Eye Centre on 6th March’15. On examination it was found that the child had dense cataract in both the eyes. The rest of the anterior segment was within normal limits. The posterior segments could not be seen due to cataract.

Some blood investigations were performed.

Based on the clinical findings, Tarun was diagnosed with congenital cataract in the left eye was made. Accordingly, he was advised an early cataract surgery after review of reports. Without the surgery, the child would have grown as a BLIND PERSON for which there would then be no treatment.

Unfortunately, Tarun’s parents could not afford the cost of the surgery.  With help from Koshika Foundation, Tarun was operated upon, on 25th March’15, for Left eye Lens aspiration + Anterior Vitrectomy + Primary posterior capsulotomy under general anesthesia. The surgery was uneventful and postoperatively the media was clear.

He was seen on 1st April 2015 the axis was clear.

Hopefully, Tarun’s will grow up with improved vision. He should be able to lead a normal life, rather than a blind man’s life of dependence & misery, thanks to the free surgery.

You can help by donating to Koshika to sponsor such free eye surgeries, and allow Tarun Singh and many others like him, to lead an independent life with dignity.
